How can I let my website visitors to create text files in ASP.NET?
Microsoft IIS and I've written a simple ASP.NET application which should enable a user to create a file on my server. I have enabled Internet user permission to write in my wwwroot folder, but implementation does not work, throws an exception saying that the access path is denied. What else can I get my visitors to create files? Thank you.
Every time you see access to path denied error, usually because it has not properly given permission to the folder for the ASP.NET process to actually execute. This is often the Network Service account, not the ASPNET worker account (WAS 2003 and later). It is also possible that you are not renaming the file being written, or not closing and destruction of the file object before someone creates it. Only one user at a time can have an open file.
